I. List of Agriculture
teacher duties:
- Plans and implements a program of instruction that adheres to the Company’s philosophy, goals and objectives as outlined in the adopted course study.
- Makes purposeful and appropriate lesson plans that provide for effective teaching strategies and maximize time on task.
- Plans and implements a program of study designed to meet individual needs of students.
- Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning by employing a variety of appropriate teaching strategies.
- Encourage student enthusiasm for the learning process and the development of good study habits.
- Provides progress and interim reports as required.
- Prepares substitute folder containing appropriate information as required.
- Plans and prescribes purposeful assignments for paraprofessionals, tutors and volunteers as needed.
- Recognizes learning and adjustment problems and makes referrals as appropriate.
- Demonstrates a strong grasp of subject matter.
- Uses effective oral and written expression.
- Keeps current in the subject matter knowledge and learning theory and is willing to share this knowledge for continual improvement of the school’s curriculum.
- Assists on the on-going curriculum revision process including the revision of written courses of study.
- Becomes acquainted with supplemental services beneficial to students as an extension of regular classroom activities.
II. List of Agriculture
teacher qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
- Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license
- Knowledge of the principles and techniques of middle and/or secondary education.
- Knowledge of the educational challenges for high school dropouts and troubled juveniles.
- Knowledge of the techniques used in group activities and classroom management.
- Knowledge of assigned subject matter and related instructional technique.
- Knowledge of the preparation and maintenance of accurate records.
- Ability to analyze, comprehend, and interpret problems pertinent to the work involved.
- Ability to organize assigned work and develop effective work methods.
- Ability to establish and maintain required records and files.
- Ability to operate, inspect, and maintain equipment used in instruction activities. Ability to observe and report performance of participants.
- Ability to work harmoniously with a variety of personalities and deal diplomatically with difficult individuals.
- Ability to tolerate verbal and mental abuse while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Ability to perform appropriate crisis intervention involving student behavior including physically breaking up fights in the classroom.
- Ability to complete pre-service and annual in-service CPR and first aid certification training and self-defense and physical intervention training.
- Ability to pass drug and TB screening and testing and criminal background check.
- Ability to work under pressure; meet inflexible deadlines; set priorities; and work independently.
- Ability to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units.
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand, or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.
