I. List of Bilingual teacher duties:

  1. Responsible for planning and implementing curriculum used by classroom teachers in Pre-K classes. Provides support and direction to teaching staff in creating appropriate lesson plans.
  2. Provides instruction in preschool classroom in cooperation with other teaching staff.
  3. Observes and assesses teachers in the classroom to ensure that the teaching methods and activities for children are appropriate. Provides feedback to classroom teachers.
  4. Provides leadership in developing the Children’s Center as a model intergenerational site.
  5. Responsible for maintaining an environment that appropriately addresses the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive needs of the children.
  6. Ensures appropriate child guidance and discipline.
  7. Provides consultation, training, and resource information to staff.
  8. Participates in planning and implementation of ongoing in-service training and orientation for staff and parents. Builds and ensures positive and on-going relationships with parents.
  9. Coordinates the completion of required monthly reports and enrollment forms, CAP forms and CAP observation checklists.
  10. Tracks and provides support to teaching staff for ongoing observation and documentation process by teaching staff of the Focused Portfolios.
  11. Works effectively with diverse staff and service population.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.

II. List of Bilingual teacher qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in education or a related field is required.
  2. State teaching certification required (middle school math or secondary math certification is preferred).
  3. Demonstrated successful experience in education or an education-related field.
  4. Ability to multi-task and independently problem-solve.
  5. Strong personality and communication skills.
  6. Strong technology skills with an emphasis on typing skills and the Microsoft Office software suite.
  7. Fluent in both English and Spanish
