I. List of Literacy teacher duties:

  1. Direct delivery of screening services in education and community settings.
  2. Direct delivery of the Nemours BrightStart! Complete Program for Early Literacy Success (Level 1 and Level 2) as well as assistance with program evaluation.
  3. Assisting with curriculum and educational material development and evaluation.
  4. Assisting with the development and delivery of curriculum trainings, educational presentations, and parent engagement sessions.
  5. Training, mentoring and supporting early childhood teachers.
  6. Overseeing and supporting collaborative efforts with community partners in the early childhood and education sectors, such as childcare agencies, school systems and universities.
  7. Participating in community events.
  8. Assisting in the identification of strategic community partners in the early childhood and education sectors in efforts to increase Nemours BrightStart!’s impact on reading readiness and related issues.
  9. Working a flexible schedule, including some nights, weekends, and out-of-town travel.
  10. Assist with Administrative tasks related to screening and intervention.
II. List of Literacy teacher qualifications

  1. Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required.
  2. Minimum of five (5) years' Early Childhood Education and training required; Adult education and training preferred.
  3. Recent, relevant teaching experience required.
  4. Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
  5. Excellent interpersonal relationship skills required.
  6. Excellent organizational skills required.
  7. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team required.
  8. Excellent problem solving skills required.
