I. List of Pre school teacher duties:

  1. Obtains required continuing education hours and maintains necessary documentation.
  2. Conducts weekly team meetings for classroom planning, child individualization, and task delegation.
  3. Attends staff meetings, required trainings, and other center events.
  4. Demonstrates knowledge of ages and stages of development. Understands the general areas of physical, social, cognitive and emotional development for designated age group.
  5. Demonstrates flexibility and openness to new ideas in child care practices.
  6. Establishes and maintains relationships of cooperation and respect with all co-workers and families.
  7. Assumes a fair share of work. Looks for ways to be helpful. Demonstrates initiative.
  8. Offers and shares ideas and materials with all co-workers.
  9. Communicates directly, works to resolve conflicts quickly and avoids gossip.
  10. Staff communicates with each other to ensure smooth operations.
  11. Collaborates with families and community agencies to assure smooth child transitions.
  12. Abides by all stated HLC policies and procedures.
  13. Commits to NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct.

  1. A bachelor’s degree with concentration in early childhood education, child development, elementary education, or early childhood special education
  2. In lieu of a bachelor's degree, a two-year associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education working toward a four-year degree according to the NAEYC
  3. Ability and willingness to respond immediately and appropriately to multiple or unexpected situations or emergencies
  4. Must follow state, federal and agency guidelines including immunizations, employment medical examination, and required health and safety training
  5. Must comply with all applicable State Regulatory and Licensing Agency requirements and NAEYC Standards and Criteria.
  6. Frequently lift, move, or hold children up to 35 pounds
  7. Demonstrate full range of motion to lift, reach, squat, climb, sit, and otherwise fully participate in activities
