I. List of Sample teacher duties:

  1. Spends 20% of work schedule instructing students.
  2. Spends 50% of the work day in classrooms actively engaged modeling, coaching, co-teaching and demonstrating standards based practices.
  3. Spends 30% of time spent on data review, leading team meetings, presenting professional development, etc.
  4. Designs classroom as demonstration site for teachers.
  5. Support and facilitate the planning and implementing of rigorous standards-based lessons in response to student data.
  6. Demonstrates an ability to access, analyze and act on school, classroom and individual student data in support of quality tiered standards-based instruction.
  7. Facilitate content/grade level data meetings.
  8. Attend and actively participate in all applicable Professional Development and school based Instructional Leadership Team meetings.
  9. Actively engages school community to understand what the Springfield Improvement Framework is and what it looks like in every classroom and meeting every day in the school.
  10. Uses the concept of the data cycle to assist in backwards planning of targeted PD.
  11. Develops partnerships with building administration, parents and community to support the improvement efforts of the school.
  12. Understands and utilizes OHI data to facilitate, monitor and adjust PD based on teachers’ needs.
  13. Coaches and manages teams to create, monitor and achieve SMART goals.
  14. Models high expectations for adults and children through words and actions.
  15. Models skills in giving and receiving feedback that enhances the school culture and promotes learning for all.
II. List of Sample teacher qualifications

  1. Meets the Highly-Qualified requirements of the Springfield Public Schools.
  2. Has completed a minimum of seven (7) years of experience working directly with students as of 7/1/12 with the majority of teaching experience in the content area to which they are applying.
  3. Has a 97% attendance rate in a historical context from 2011-2012 and 2012-2013.
  4. Has attained Professional Teacher Status in the Springfield Public Schools.
  5. Highly recommended by his/her current principal.
  6. Possesses a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university or will possess a Master’s degree within 1 year (9-12 credits of completion in an approved program-1 year provisional appointment contingent on completion of the degree within the year).
  7. Possesses a professional license in the area of teaching position from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (a specific content license is preferred in the areas of: ELA/reading, math and science).
  8. Consistent exemplary overall performance rating on your evaluations over the past two years and Principle VIII with an exceeds rating.
  9. Provide evidence that demonstrate your expertise in exemplary practice, understanding and use of student data, leadership and the implementation of the Springfield Improvement Framework through the submission of documentation as instructed in Appendix A-F: Impact on Student Learning and Leading the Learning; Standards-based Unit Plan; Summary of Student Outcome Data; other Supporting Documentation (artifacts); and the Validation on Student Outcome Data.
  10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills as demonstrated in submitted documentation and panel review.
  11. Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills.
