I. List of High
school science teacher duties:
- Work collaboratively to create and implement a program of study that is intellectually challenging
- Sustain a school-wide culture of respect for school rules and actively use the school’s demerit, merit and detention system
- Implement elements of inquiry to develop students scientific thinking skills
- Regularly integrate literacy activities into the science curriculum
- Serve as an Advisor to a small group of students
- Communicate with students’ families on a regular basis
- Participate in Professional Development as scheduled for CCSC faculty
- Lesson planning for 2-4 academic subjects
- Teaching 3-4 classes per day
- Planning special projects and field trips
- Managing homeroom and end of day wrap-up with students
- Working closely with the classroom assistant to ensure students' needs are met
- Writing annual IEP goals
- Writing progress reports
- Helping students with non-academic activities such as facilitating social interactions, helping kids take sensory breaks, etc.

- Master’s Degree preferred
- Must be licensed by the Massachusetts Dept of Elementary and Secondary Education in Education/High School Science
- Must be a team player and know how to make lessons fun!
- Experience with students diagnosed with Asperser’s Syndrome, a plus!
